Foster Inclusion:

Inclusion is a broad philosophy of welcoming all learners, valuing diversity, and restructuring learning for everyone, while Special Educational Needs (SEN) refers to specific learning difficulties or disabilities that require tailored support, often in a separate setting.

At GiGi we create an environment where every individual, regardless of ability, background, or circumstances, feels valued, respected, and has equitable access to learning opportunities, with the system adapting to the individual students’ diverse needs rather than expecting the learners to adapt.

It's about removing barriers, promoting belonging, and ensuring all learners can participate fully and achieve their potential, embracing diversity as a strength, not a deficit.

Most mainstream schools are promoting inclusion but not all schools are a good ‘fit’ for each learner. We often say: ‘If only there were enough schools to accommodate every individual learner’. We know how hard it is to find the correct school for your child and in Zambia we have a limited choice, especially for those children that can’t cope in mainstream schools.

The way people view education as a whole is also changing. Some families decide to homeschool their children and some don’t believe (mainstream) education is ‘the way to go’. The world is changing rapidly and the way we believe children need to be ‘equipped’ for their future is also under continuous change.

At GiGi we have seen so many examples whereby mainstream or even homeschooling wasn’t the right fit. We have worked with students and families that could (fore)see how a mainstream examination was not achievable. We then looked into a world of other options available. That world is there and we will guide you to find the right fit.

In this time and age there are many other routes to take than mainstream. There is so much hope to still become successful and fulfilled without attending university or passing an IGCSE exam.
